Socket is an independent sci-fi thriller released in 2007. Dark and sexual, it tells the story of a gay man being drawn into a cult of electricity addicts after being struck by lightning. It is reportedly the first gay sci-fi thriller. However, "Socket" is also unique in that it is a film where the sexuality of the four lead characters is inconsequential to the plot.
Socket was written and directed by Sean Abley and produced by John Carrozza, Sean Abley, Matt Mishkoff and Doug Prinzivalli, with cinematography by Ivan Corona and editing by David Kittredge. The original music by Jennifer Kes Remington was nominated for Best Score for an Indie Feature Film by The Film & TV Music Academy Awards.
Shortbus is a 2006 comedy-drama film written and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, writer/director/star of the play and film Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
The plot revolves around a sexually diverse ensemble of emotionally challenged people trying desperately to connect in post-9/11, bohemian New York City. The characters converge on a weekly Brooklyn artistic/sexual salon loosely inspired by various underground NYC gatherings that took place in the early 2000s. According to Mitchell, the film attempts to "employ sex in new cinematic ways", and it includes a variety of explicit scenes of sexuality.
Fresh young talent and a healthy dollop of enthusiasm serve as the springboard of this well written (Carlos Portugal and Charo Toledo), well directed (Carlos Portugal) and well acted exuberant story of those once perceived tightly closet doors of the East Los Angeles Hispanic community. Not that this is the first film to engage the topic of being gay in East LA - QUINCEAÑERA is another superb film on the subject - but it addresses so many other aspects of family and social life happening now that it deserves a wide audience. With a cast of newcomers coupled with some very fine veterans of the screen EAST SIDE STORY comes to life in a highly entertaining fashion.

Tom Bianchi’s most stunning and arousing photo shoots yet. Gorgeous men with amazingly sculpted bodies take it all off and enthusiastically work together. Even Tom Bianchi bares it all in front of the camera with these hunks. You can see that these men are enjoying themselves (with the other men) and basically want you to enjoy their fully nude (yes, their man-muscle is on display as well)bodies and the water.
Hot, tan, glistening male bodies…this DVD has it all!

A colorfully cheesy and totally tacky fun-fest for lovers of the soaps and everyone who loves a little camp. San Francisco in the 1970’s had Tales of the City and now 1999s West Hollywood has their own queer soap opera with this funny sexy soaper which centers on the on-going antics of the assorted queer residents of a WeHo apartment house. There are handsome hunks evil docs a bitchy gossip columnist an elder but still randy old queen (think Quentin Crisp on Viagra) and even a nude Latino servant. They — gay lesbian and straight — are all caught up in the sexual turmoil and sexual chaos of the place.
Piper Perabo lights up the screen as Rachel, a blushing bride whose perfect nuptials take a surprising turn at the altar. An innocent glance between Rachel and an unexpected wedding guest is all it takes to spark a ‘love at first sight’ romance with a surprising twist — the object of Rachel’s affection is a smart and sensuous… woman! Their shocking romance causes quite a stir amongst her family and friends as Rachel is forced to choose between her husband and the girl of her dreams. Say ‘I do’ to the wonderfully witty film that Cosmopolitan calls "a refreshing romantic comedy."
